Pyrazine-2,5-diamine is a synthetic chemical obtained from terephthalic acid by dehydrogenation. It has been used to synthesize carbamate derivatives and has been employed as a crystallization solvent for x-ray diffraction studies of organic compounds. Pyrazine-2,5-diamine is also used in the production of polyesters and as an intermediate in the synthesis of other organic compounds. It is available as a thin film and can be applied to devices such as fluorescent lamps or light emitting diodes (LEDs).
