- 3-(1,3,2-Dioxaborinan-2-Yl)Pyridine
3-Pyridineboronic acid 1,3-propanediol ester is a reagent for the synthesis of nucleic acids and polynucleotides. It can be used in high concentrations in the presence of n-hydroxysuccinimide to form boronate bonds with carboxylic acid groups on the DNA backbone. This reaction is catalyzed by dicyclohexylcarbodiimide as a coupling agent. 3-Pyridineboronic acid 1,3-propanediol ester reacts with nucleosides to form monosubstituted nucleic acids. This reaction proceeds with the formation of an ester bond between the nucleic acid and 3-pyridineboronic acid 1,3-propanediol ester. The reagent can be used to isolate and purify these compounds from other substances during chromatographic procedures.
