3H-Pyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidin-4-one is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the biosynthesis of prostanoids. 3H-Pyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidin-4-one inhibits the production of prostaglandins by blocking the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX) and inhibiting cellular proliferation. This drug also has antiosteoporotic effects in vivo and can be used for the treatment of osteopenia. The chemical structure of 3H-Pyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidin-4-one contains a hydrogen bond that participates in intramolecular reactions and forms reaction products with other molecules. These reactions are important for its biological properties.
