Description:

5-Propynyl-2'-deoxyuridine is a nucleoside that is used in the preparation of 5-propynyl-2'-deoxycytidine, which is a base analog for cytidine. This nucleoside has been shown to be an effective proton carrier and it has been suggested that this property may be important for its biological relevance. It has also been shown to stabilize duplex DNA by forming hydrogen bonds with the phosphodiester backbone. 5-Propynyl-2'-deoxyuridine is fluorescent and can be detected using fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry.
