Description:

2-Phenylbenzimidazole-5-sulfonic acid monohydrate (PBSA) is a light-sensitive molecule that can be used as a source for monitoring the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in water and air. PBSA is a yellow solid that absorbs light with wavelengths between 350 and 500 nm. It has been shown to be effective as a handheld light source for monitoring the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in water, and can also be used as a light source for DNA sequencing.
