Product Information

Name:
PDAM
Synonyms:
  • 1-(Diazomethyl)pyrene1-Pyrenyldiazomethane
  • 1-Pyrenyldiazomethan
  • Pyrenyldiazomethane
Description:

PDAM is a fatty acid that is produced in the liver. It is a precursor of prostaglandin D2, and it has been shown to play a role in the immune system by inhibiting the growth of human macrophages. PDAM induces apoptosis and necrosis in these cells via mitochondrial dysfunction, with an increase in reactive oxygen species. PDAM also has an effect on fatty acid metabolism, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandin E2. In addition, PDAM may be involved with the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation. The diagnostic value of PDAM has been investigated through use of logistic regression analysis.
