The synthesis of 4H,5H,6H,7H-Pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine starts with the reaction of morpholine and nitrobenzene in refluxing ethanol to form a pyridinium salt. This is then reacted with an excess of ethyl piperazine to produce 4H,5H,6H,7H-Pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine.
