Product Information
2-(2-Pyridylazo)-5-dimethylaminophenol is a colorimetric reagent that reacts with the amino group of proteins to produce an orange color. It can be used for histochemical staining of tissues and long-term, on-line monitoring of reactions. 2-(2-Pyridylazo)-5-dimethylaminophenol is sensitive to the presence of alkylamino groups in proteins, and can be used as a marker for ligands in x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. 2-(2-Pyridylazo)-5-dimethylaminophenol has been shown to react with pyridine rings in benzene derivatives to form red or orange complexes.
