Poly(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate is a pre-adipocyte cell culture substrate that can be used for the study of adipogenesis. It is a hydrophilic polymer with an average molecular weight of 550 Da and crosslinkable functional groups. It has been shown to be effective in the formation of extracellular matrices, which are necessary for the growth and differentiation of pre-adipocytes. Poly(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate has also been shown to promote the proliferation and migration of human pre-adipocytes through its ability to regulate the expression of genes related to adipose metabolism.
