Product Information
4-Pyridinesulfonamide is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of nitrobenzenes. It can be synthesized by reacting nitrobenzene with an alkali, such as potassium hydroxide. 4-Pyridinesulfonamide has been shown to catalyze the reduction of nitrobenzene to p-aminophenol and hydroquinone. This reaction is dependent on the concentration of alkali and the temperature, which are determined by coefficients and reactivities. The product of this reaction is catalytic reduction, which occurs when sodium hydroxide is added to the solution containing 4-pyridinesulfonamide. In this process, hydrogen gas is produced in addition to 4-aminophenol and hydroquinone. 4-Pyridinesulfonamide also esterifies with methanol and ethanol under basic conditions to produce methyl pyridine sulfonate and ethyl pyridine sulfonate
