1-Palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-3-linoleoyl-rac-glycerol
Synonyms:
  • (9Z,12Z)-9,12-Octadecadienoic acid 3-[(1-oxohexadecyl)oxy]-2-[[(9Z)-1-oxo-9-octadecen-1-yl]oxy]propyl ester2-Oleo-3-palmito-1-linol ein1-Linoleo-3-palmito-2-olein
Description:

1-Palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-3-linoleoyl-rac-glycerol is a synthetic, monoisotopic, regiospecific fatty acid. It was isolated from the mushroom Ganoderma lucidum and has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on cancer cells. The synthesis of 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-3-linoleoyl-rac glycerol was accomplished by reacting palmitic acid with linoleic acid and oleic acid in the presence of sodium methoxide in methanol. The structure of 1palmitoyl 2 oleoyl 3 linoleyl rac glycerol was elucidated by analytical chemistry methods, including gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. This compound can be used as an analytical method for determining the amount of fatty acids in a sample because it has a high purity and is easy to synthesize.
