Product Information
- (+)-N-(1-Phenylethyl)acetamide(R)-1-Acetamido-1-phenylethane(R)-N-Acetyl-1-phenylethylamine
- N-[(1R)-1-phenylethyl]acetamide
N-[(R)-1-Phenylethyl]acetamide (NPA) is a molecule that has been shown to be an inhibitor of the microtubule-associated protein, y-27632. It can also be used as a carbon source for microsphere synthesis by immobilization and acylation reactions. NPA binds to the active methylene group of proteins, with high affinity for proteins with subunits containing two or more methylene groups. The kinetic behavior of NPA and its enantiomer, (S)-N-phenethylacetamide, was studied using dodecyl acetate as the carbon source in vessels. The optimal reaction conditions were found to be at pH 8 and at 25 degrees Celsius.
