Product Information

Name:
4-Phospho D-erythronate
Synonyms:
  • (2R,3R)-2,3-Dihydroxy-4-(phosphonooxy)butanoic acid[R-(R*,R*)]-2,3-Dihydroxy-4-(phosphonooxy)butanoic acid
Description:

4-Phospho D-erythronate is a dinucleotide phosphate that is synthesized from glycolaldehyde and sodium citrate. 4-Phospho D-erythronate has been shown to have synergistic effects with the antibiotic penicillin G, which may be due to the chemical structures of both molecules. In addition, 4-Phospho D-erythronate has shown potential as a drug target for bacterial phosphatase enzymes. This molecule has been shown to inhibit phosphatase enzymes in E. coli K-12 and fatty acid biosynthesis in Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2).
