Description:

3-(4-Piperidinyl)-1,2-benzisoxazole hydrochloride is a morpholine impurity that is generated during the synthesis of fluoroquinolones. It has a high yield and significant activity, but can also be an impurity in drugs like risperidone. 3-(4-Piperidinyl)-1,2-benzisoxazole hydrochloride is produced by irradiating thiomorpholine with zinc chloride in the presence of an alkali metal. The reaction yields 3-(4-piperidinyl)-1,2-benzisoxazole hydrochloride as a white solid.
