Pyrazole N-demethyl sildenafil is a potent and selective inhibitor of the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). It has been used as a tool for screening PDE5 inhibitors. Pyrazole N-demethyl sildenafil is stable in both organic solvents and water, making it suitable for use in chromatography experiments. Pyrazole N-demethyl sildenafil can be quantified by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV detection at 214 nm. The compound can be used to validate analytical methods for the identification of other PDE5 inhibitors.
