Description

N-(2-Pyridylamino)ethanol is a synthetic, water-soluble compound. It is a chloride salt of N-(2-pyridyl)ethyleneamine. N-(2-Pyridylamino)ethanol has been used in the synthesis of amides and esters, as well as in the preparation of new anticancer drugs. It can also be used to modify natural products and generate new derivatives with different properties. The 2-pyridylamino group on this molecule can undergo alkylation, thionylation or nucleophilic substitution reactions. This molecule can also be modified by irradiation or reductive amination.
