N-Propylhydrazine dihydrochloride is a pyrazolopyrimidinone that has been found to have antiproliferative and antiinflammatory properties. It inhibits the synthesis of heme, which is responsible for the production of hemoglobin and other proteins in the blood. The product also has an inhibitory effect on the synthesis of prothioconazole, a type of chemical compound that is used in agriculture as a fungicide. N-Propylhydrazine dihydrochloride has shown to have anti-viral properties, including inhibiting hepatitis B virus replication and interfering with HIV virus assembly. This product can be toxic at high doses due to its inhibitory effect on blood pressure.
