2-Pyrimidinamine, 5-fluoro-(9Cl) is a synthetic drug that has been shown to have the ability to inhibit cardiovascular disease and intestinal hyperproliferative disorders. This inhibition leads to an increase in cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which is a second messenger that can regulate many intracellular processes. The increased levels of cGMP are associated with the inhibition of cell proliferation and the promotion of apoptosis.
