Description:

2-Propyl-1,3-thiazole is an organic compound that can be synthesized by the reaction of methoxy groups and activated carbon. This compound is used in calibration and as a standard for determining the rate of C-H bond reactions. 2-Propyl-1,3-thiazole has been shown to form a complex with palladium and sulfonic acids in the presence of inorganic acid. The complex is quantified using photometry and transforms to 2-(2-propyloxyphenoxy)ethanethiol when heated.
2-Propyl-1,3-thiazole is also used as a reagent in mineralization reactions.END>>
