Pigment Yellow 53 is a yellow pigment that is soluble in organic solvents and has been used in paints, plastics, and printing inks. The compound is composed of a hydroxy group, linear model, and optical properties. Pigment Yellow 53 has the chemical structure of a fatty acid with a hydroxyl group on one end. It is also known as CI 12700. Pigment Yellow 53 can be synthesized by reacting an alkyl halide with an alcohol or phenol.
