D-Phenylglycine is an amino acid with a nonpolar side chain. It is used in the synthesis of peptides, proteins, and other organic compounds. D-Phenylglycine can be synthesized by the reaction of Trifluoroacetic acid with D-phenylalanine in the presence of particle. This product can also be used to study enzymatic reactions through immobilization and transfer reactions. Structural analysis of this product has been shown to be possible with the use of carbon source and kinetic studies. Hydrochloric acid or hydrogen bond can also be used to catalyze this reaction. The α subunit of this enzyme is responsible for amide bond formation during enzymatic reactions.
