Description:
2-PhenyLpiperazine is a cytotoxic compound that is used in the synthesis of other drugs. It can be synthesized by reacting 2-phenylpiperazine with hydrogen chloride and phenol in an organic solvent. 2-PhenyLpiperazine has been shown to cause muscle necrosis in animals. The cytotoxic effects of this drug are due to its ability to inhibit RNA synthesis, DNA synthesis, and protein synthesis. Chronic pain may also be due to the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
