6-Phenylbenzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-c]quinazoline is a potent inhibitor of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and has significant cytotoxic activity against human leukemia cells in vitro. It inhibits the production of TNF by binding to the TNF receptor on the surface of cells. 6-Phenylbenzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-c]quinazoline was shown to inhibit the production of TNF in mice and also had an anti-inflammatory effect. 6-Phenylbenzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-c]quinazoline could be used for treating inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or Crohn's disease.
