Description:

H-Phe-Ala-OH is a molecule that has been shown to have steric interactions with the active site of proteases. It also has been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties, which may be due to its ability to be absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract and metabolized in the liver. H-Phe-Ala-OH has been used as a diagnostic tool for cancer and has shown biochemical properties that are indicative of cancer. It binds to lysine residues and is then hydrolyzed by soybean trypsin, resulting in an intramolecular hydrogen bond between the amino acid residue and the side chain of phenylalanine. This bond causes a change in coordination geometry and can lead to diagnosis.
