2,2,3,3,3-Pentafluoropropan-1-ol is a synthetic cannabinoid that has been found to be an active metabolite of the drug AB-FUBINACA. This compound is structurally similar to the cannabinoids THC and CBD. It binds to CB1 cannabinoid receptors in the brain and can cause euphoria and hallucinations. 2,2,3,3,3-Pentafluoropropan-1-ol is also an analytical method for detecting other synthetic cannabinoids in urine samples by FTIR spectroscopy.
