Z-Pro-Gly-OH is an activating reagent for the affinity labeling of proteins. It can be used in the sequence analysis and characterization of proteins, as well as in the study of protein interactions. Z-Pro-Gly-OH is a chloromethyl ketone that reacts with thiol groups on proteins to form an activated ester and then reacts with a labeled amino acid to form a covalent bond. This reaction is irreversible under standard conditions and can be used in sequence analysis and characterization of proteins, as well as in the study of protein interactions. The reactivity of Z-Pro-Gly-OH with thiol groups is pH dependent, so it should be added to the reaction mixture at pH 8 or higher.
