D-Proline amide hydrochloride is a cryoprotectant that is used to protect cells and tissue from damage during freezing or drying. It is also used as an excipient in pharmaceutical preparations. D-Proline amide hydrochloride has been shown to be effective in the prophylaxis and/or treatment of infectious diseases, including those caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa. This drug has also been shown to be effective in the prevention of cancer. D-Proline amide hydrochloride has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and can be used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as asthma. It also has been shown to have therapeutic effects on fibrotic diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis.
