The detection sensitivity of D-proline tert-butyl ester is higher than that of L-lysine. This compound can be synthesized by a stepwise reaction with trifluoroacetic acid, followed by chromatographic separation. D-Proline tert-butyl ester has been shown to have cytotoxic effects on mammalian cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of proteins necessary for cell growth and proliferation.
