L-Pyroglutamyl-L-alanine is a synthetic, polyclonal antibody that binds to the amino acid L-pyroglutamyl. It is an analog of L-glutamic acid, which is a structural analog of L-glutamine, and has been shown to be an environmental toxin in animals. It has been proposed as a possible treatment for Parkinson's disease, due to its ability to bind with the enzyme group P2, which catalyses the production of dopamine.
