Description

Z-Pro-Gly-NH2 is a decapeptide that is used as the standard for the amino acid proline. It is synthesized from L-glutamic acid, L-alanine and ethylenediamine. This peptide can be prepared by solid phase peptide synthesis on a sephadex column or by enzymatic hydrolysis of Z-Ala-Gly. Z-Pro-Gly-NH2 has been used in the characterization of preparations and analogs of hypothalamic peptides and as an inhibitor of enzyme activity. The synthesis of this compound was homogeneous, with a purity of 99%.
