Description

Pro-Tyr-OH is a peptide that is found in the human brain. It has been shown to be involved in the development of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. This peptide binds to monoclonal antibodies against amyloid beta, which are used to study the conformational properties of this protein. Pro-Tyr-OH also binds to water molecules, forming hydrogen bonds by donating a proton or accepting an electron pair from the water molecule. Pro-Tyr-OH may play a role in Alzheimer's disease by binding to amyloid beta and preventing its aggregation.
