Product Information
- 4-(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)benzoate
4-(1H-Pyrazol-1-yl)benzoic acid (4H-PBA) is an upcoming, reversibly, potential risk, sustainable, catalytic, synthetic ligand. It has a high affinity for the enzyme formate dehydrogenase and can be used to produce formate as a potential energy source. 4H-PBA is synthesized from formic acid and ammonia in the presence of hydrazine. The reaction produces formate as a byproduct. This process was shown to have no significant effect on the volumetric or densities of formic acid or formate. 4H-PBA has also been shown to inhibit oxidative phosphorylation in rat liver mitochondria, which may lead to cell death by apoptosis.
