Product Information

Name:
5-Phenylpentyl chloride
Synonyms:
  • (5-Chloropentyl)benzene
  • 5-Phenylamyl chloride~5-Phenylpentyl chloride
  • (5-Chloropentyl)Benzene
Description:

5-Phenylpentyl chloride (5PC) is a trisubstituted phenyl compound that has been shown to exhibit affinity for the receptor protein. This molecule binds to and inhibits cyclic AMP (cAMP) production, leading to neurodegenerative diseases. 5PC also inhibits DNA methylation in the GADD45 gene, which may be due to its ability to act as an isothiocyanate. The molecule has been found to have tumorigenicity in animal models, which may be due to its ability to bind DNA and inhibit cell growth.
