Description:
5-Phenylisoxazole-3-carbohydrazide is a potent inhibitor of tyrosine phosphatases. It has been shown to have neuroprotective effects in animal models of Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, as well as in cell culture models. 5-Phenylisoxazole-3-carbohydrazide inhibits the uptake of glucose by cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit phosphatases that regulate insulin secretion.
