Pentamethylcyclopentadienylrhodium(III) chloride dimer is a crystalline solid with the chemical formula RhCl(CH). It is a metal ion, an allyl carbonate, and a fluxional molecule. Preparative methods include the reactions of RhCl(CH) with hexane and allyl carbonate. The compound has two isomers, one with the chloride ligand on the left side of the molecule and one with it on the right side. Structural analysis has been conducted by X-ray diffraction studies to determine its molecular geometry. The activation energy for fluxionality was determined to be 8.0 kcal/mol from heat capacity measurements.
