Description:

4-Phenyl-thiazole-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester is a cholesteryl ester transfer inhibitor. It inhibits the activity of cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP), which is involved in the transport of cholesterol and other lipids, by binding to the active site of CETP. 4-Phenyl-thiazole-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester has been shown to have inhibitory activities against a number of other proteins, including amide linker, electron transfer proteins, and metabolic stability. This agent also has an inhibitory effect on the synthesis of cholesterol and triglycerides.
