(1R,2S)-1-Phenyl-2-(1-pyrrolidinyl)propan-1-ol (1R,2S) is a chiral reagent that can be used to synthesize ketones in the presence of dialkylzinc. It is also used as a ligand in preparative chemistry. Elemental analysis has shown that 1R,2S is an aliphatic ketone with a cyclic structure. The yields and stoichiometric ratios for the synthesis of ketones with 1R,2S are rationalized by this structure. (1R,2S) can be hydrolyzed to form the corresponding alcohol or converted to the chloride salt.
