Description

(R)-3-Phenylcyclohexanone is a chiral ligand that can be used to catalyze reactions of β-unsaturated ketones with phenyl groups. This compound has been shown to have stereoselective, organometallic nature and high temperatures. It has been used in the synthesis of cyclic compounds such as tetrafluorobenzyne and monoketones at room temperature. The (R)-3-phenylcyclohexanone is also able to react with lithium butyllithium at low temperatures, which may be due to its ability to form an organometallic chelate complex with lithium.
