3-[2-(Perfluorohexyl)ethoxy]-1,2-epoxypropane (FE-C8) is a fluorocarbon that has been used as an additive in the production of polyurethane foams. It is also used as a solvent and in the preparation of other fluorocarbons. Fluorocarbons are hydrophobic and have low solubility in water, which makes them useful for the transport and transfer of hydrocarbons. The density of FE-C8 is 1.55 g/cm3 at 20°C and its boiling point is 124°C at atmospheric pressure.
