Perfluoroheptanesulfonyl fluoride is a reagent that can be used to synthesize amines. It reacts with tert-butyl amine to produce the corresponding sulfonamide. In addition, it can also be used as a hydrogen fluoride scavenger in solution. Perfluoroheptanesulfonyl fluoride has been shown to have high sensitivity for detecting fluoride ions and can be used as a screening tool in drug discovery.
