Description:
1H-Pyrazol-5-amine is a small molecule drug that has been shown to have inhibitory properties against the growth of bacteria. The antimicrobial activity of 1H-pyrazol-5-amine was tested against pathogenic bacteria and it was found to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Staphylococcus aureus. This drug also inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species and inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential. It is believed that this drug binds to the pyrazole ring in order to inhibit bacterial cell division.
