Praeruptorin C is a coumarin derivative that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. It is not active against bacteria, but has been shown to inhibit the production of neurotrophic factors and chemoattractant proteins in vitro. Praeruptorin C also has natural compounds, such as glycol esters, which are found in plants. This drug also has drug interactions with dextran sulfate and michaelis-menten kinetics in vitro assays. The synthesis of this compound is dependent on metabolic disorders and cytosolic Ca2+.
