Product Information

Name:
Polygalasaponin F
Description:

Polygalasaponin F is a polysaccharide with anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties. It can be used in pharmaceutical preparations for the treatment of diseases, such as autoimmune disorders, where inflammation is involved. Polygalasaponin F has been shown to act as an absorption enhancer when administered with drugs like polymyxin B. This compound also has anti-viral properties that have been shown to inhibit HIV replication in vitro and in vivo. Polygalasaponin F regulates the transcription of genes that are involved in neuronal death or viral life and is capable of blocking the activation of MAPK signal pathways. It has also been found to induce mitochondrial membrane potential collapse and lead to locomotor activity inhibition in anesthetized rats, which may be due to its ability to activate potassium channels.
