Parishin C is a natural compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. It is an analog of the naturally occurring p-hydroxybenzoic acid and was found to inhibit 5-HT1A receptor activity in mice. Parishin C also has anti-inflammatory effects on mouse hippocampal cells and reduces inflammation in an experimental model of inflammatory bowel disease. This drug inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines, such as IL-6, IL-8, and TNFα, by inhibiting 5-HT1A receptor activation. In addition, it was found that Parishin C inhibited the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by activating Nrf2.
