Description

Perhydrocyclobuta[c]furan-1,3-dione is a synthetic compound that has been shown to be an effective catalyst for the asymmetric synthesis of alcohols. It is enantiopure and can be used in the stereoselective synthesis of cyclic compounds, such as cyclobutane or cyclic ketones. Perhydrocyclobuta[c]furan-1,3-dione can also activate photosensitized reactions, which are useful in the production of pharmaceuticals and other biologically active compounds. This compound has been validated by testing its ability to catalyze reactions on biomolecules, such as DNA or RNA sequences.
