Product Information

Name:
N-Propyl 4-fluorobenzaMide
Description:

N-Propyl 4-fluorobenzaMide is a selective, non-steroidal inhibitor of the enzyme benzene, phenolic and flavonoid hydroxylase. It has been shown to have a wide range of applications in analytical chemistry, including confirming the presence of benzene in industrial products and natural phenols in plant extracts. N-Propyl 4-fluorobenzaMide binds to cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes that are responsible for synthesizing prostaglandins involved in inflammation. It also interacts with other COX enzymes that are responsible for synthesizing lipoxins that have anti-inflammatory activity. These interactions may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of proinflammatory prostaglandins and increase the production of anti-inflammatory lipoxins.
