Product Information
Poly(2-fluoroadenylic acid) is a polymer of 2-fluoroadenine, which is a purine. It has been shown to stabilize single-stranded DNA, which may be due to its ability to bind to the bases in the genome and prevent them from being degraded by nucleases. Poly(2-fluoroadenylic acid) has also been shown to inhibit the synthesis of viral proteins and interfere with virus replication. The uptake of poly(2-fluoroadenylic acid) into cells is mediated by saponin, a glycosylated polysaccharide that binds to cell surface receptors. Poly(2-fluoroadenylic acid) can be synthesized in vivo and is found in ribosomes and as part of the RNA polymerase complex.
