Product Information

Name:
Pentafluoropropionaldehyde Hydrate
Description:

Pentafluoropropionaldehyde Hydrate is a minimizer that prevents polymerization reactions by binding to the active sites of the reaction. The trifluoromethyl group on this molecule has been shown to minimize polymerization reactions in pharmaceutical formulations and asymmetric synthesis. This molecule also has been shown to be an active substance when used in waveguide fabrication, as well as in optical and photopolymerizable materials.
Pentafluoropropionaldehyde Hydrate has been shown to prevent radiation-induced damage from ultraviolet light and can be used for picolinic acid dehydrohalogenation, which is a process in which picolinic acid reacts with an alcohol or phenol to produce an ester or ether.
