Product Information

Name:
Potassium (phenylethynyl)trifluoroborate
Description:

Potassium (phenylethynyl)trifluoroborate, also known as K(Phen)(ETBF), is a synthetic compound that is a potential anticancer agent. It was found to be cytotoxic to prostate cancer cells by inducing mitochondrial-dependent apoptosis and cell death. The mechanism of this process is still unknown, but it may involve the release of reactive oxygen species from mitochondria. K(Phen)(ETBF) has optical properties that enable it to be used in optical imaging techniques for cancer diagnosis. This compound has also been shown to have anticancer efficacy against various types of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo.
