Product Information
1-Phenylthiolan-1-ium Hexafluorophosphate (1PS) is a cationic initiator for ring-opening polymerization of acrylates and methacrylates, which provides an alternative to the use of organic peroxides. 1PS initiates polymerization by reacting with electron donors such as carbocations, sulfides, and arylsubstituted molecules. 1PS is thermally labile, and thus cannot be used in high temperature processes. The molecule is also carbonium ion, which means it has a reactive electrophilic center that can be substituted with electron-donating groups on the aromatic ring or alkyl chain.
